Sandra Gidley is the Liberal Democrat MP for Romsey. She was elected in a by-election in 2000 and retained the seat in 2001 and 2005.

SANDRA SLAMS GOVERNMENT OVER PLANNING POLICY

Local MP Sandra Gidley has today hit out at the Labour government, vowing to write to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, after a parliamentary answer revealed that Ministers have no plans to reverse planning policy which allows for development on Hampshire's prime agricultural land.

GIDLEY CALLS ON COUNCIL TO SHED LIGHT ON STREET LIGHTING SCHEME

Romsey MP Sandra Gidley has written to the Chief Executive of Hampshire County Council, demanding an explanation of how they are spending the £225m PFI credits awarded to them by the government for the South Coast PFI street lighting scheme, as figures show there has been a huge increase in staff salaries and the council's publicity budget.

Following figures originally acquired in January, new data obtained today by Southampton and Hampshire MP Sandra Gidley show that local PCTs are still failing to screen thousands of local diabetics for diabetic retinopathy*.
